Who We Are

The Michigan Spinal Cord Injury Association, or MSCIA, is a 501(c)(3) organization with the purpose of enhancing and empowering the lives of those with spinal cord injury and disease through advocacy, education, research, and medical aid. The MSCIA is a statewide resource center dedicated to providing members with community resources and support groups.

The MSCIA is the Michigan chapter of the United Spinal Association, or the USA. The USA, founded in 1948, is the nation’s oldest and largest civilian organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of Americans living with the results of spinal cord injury and disease and their families. Collectively, we have over 24,000 voices representing our association.

The focus of the Michigan Spinal Cord Injury Association (MSCIA) is to enhance and empower those with spinal cord injury and disease to achieve and maintain the highest levels of independence, health and personal fulfillment. As a non-profit organization, we are dependent upon fundraising efforts, sponsorships and donations to support our mission. Donations may be tax deductible.
